COVID-19 MANDATORY VACCINATION DIRECTIVE (PLEASE READ) 
 
As an employer with a strong commitment to health and safety, the Town of Canmore will take every reasonable step to protect the health, safety, and welfare of its employees and others from the hazard of COVID-19. The Town has determined that it is necessary for the protection of its workplace to mandate COVID-19 vaccinations for all its employees as a further control in mitigating the hazard of COVID-19. This new directive and related procedures outline the requirement for employees to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19, unless unable to receive vaccination due to an accepted medical reason. Therefore, all prospective candidates may be respectfully asked to:
 
  1. Disclose vaccination status during the hiring process (in a respectful and confidential manner
  2. Provide documentation to support vaccination status prior to a job offer   
  3. Participate in our rapid testing program and meet our vaccination deadlines for single-dose vaccine candidates

Position Overview:  The Town of Canmore Day Camp Counsellors are responsible to deliver safe, fun, and memorable day camp experiences for participants. As a member of the Recreation Department, a counsellor will be responsible to plan and implement program itineraries which provide meaningful and age-appropriate activities for children and youth in our community. The number one priority will be the supervision, enjoyment, and safety of program participants. The Day Camp Counsellors are committed to helping the community connect, build friendships, and create memories that will last a lifetime.

  

Attributes: This position is for someone who is a friendly, confident, and a team player, with a proven dedication to providing exceptional care and programming for youth. The ideal candidate will have graduated from or be currently enrolled in, a post-secondary program, in the field of education, outdoor pursuits, or recreation. A current certification in Standard First Aid and CPR is required. Childcare, day camp, or relevant experience is essential.

 

Term & Work Schedule:  This is a full - time temporary seasonal position (40 hours), working with ages 3 - 4 years old during the Canmore Summer break in July and August. The work schedule is Monday – Friday, 8:30 AM – 5:30 PM with training in June. This contract runs June 17th 2024 – August 23rd 2024. The starting wage rate is $20.37.
