The International Operations & Programs (IOPs) Unit is looking for a motivated individual with an interest in international development work, to assist the existing administrative support function. This unpaid volunteer opportunity is based in the Ottawa office, reporting to the Administration Officer of the unit.

 

How can you help?

General support in organizing, setting up and delivering IOPs events:

  • Participants’ travel: traveler's documentation, travel booking, accommodation.

  • Welcoming visitors: Help preparing welcome and orientation packages, help coordinating and addressing needs of visitors.

  • Events: Assist in preparing events’ material and in organizing event logistics, such as venues, catering, transportation, etc. If possible, the ideal candidate will be able to attend and provide support during the events.

 

Other Responsibilities:

  • Provide assistance with tasks such as database and web-based research, office organization and office-related support for and during events.

 

What skills and experience do you need?

  • Minimum of High School diploma

  • Experience with Word, Excel, Internet and strong communications skills are essential.

  • Advanced organizational skills

  • Excellent communication skills

  • Problem solving & negotiation skills

  • Strong interpersonal skills

  • English mandatory, bilingual (French-English) preferred

 

How much time do we need?

A maximum of 12 hours a week for a period of 6 months starting mid March 2019.
